Port of Aberdeen welcomes first warship into South Harbour
Today (Tuesday, 22 October), Port of Aberdeen welcomed its first-ever warship into South Harbour as the Belgian Navy Ship (BNS) Louise-Marie docked at Castlegate Quay at 10:30 a.m.
BNS Louise-Marie, a multipurpose frigate built in 1991, is one of two Karel Doorman-class frigates in the Belgian Navy, named after Belgium’s first king and queen.
The ship’s arrival was coordinated at short notice, demonstrating the port's agility and efficiency. The vessel will benefit from world-class logistical support provided by the port's supply chain and the wider regional network, before she departs on Thursday, 24 October.
