What led you to apply for an internship at Port of Aberdeen?
I am passionate about environmental sustainability and the port's commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040. The opportunity to contribute to the Port's efforts in reducing carbon footprint and implementing sustainable practices greatly aligns with my academic background and personal and professional interests.
What skills or experiences do you hope to gain from this internship?
Firstly, I aim to develop a deeper understanding of environmental management, particularly in a maritime context, by actively participating in initiatives related to emissions reduction, waste management, and biodiversity conservation. I also look forward to collaborating with various stakeholders and learning how to effectively communicate and raise awareness about sustainable practices within the maritime industry.
What do you hope to contribute to Port of Aberdeen during your internship?
I hope to contribute my knowledge and enthusiasm for environmental sustainability to support the Port's efforts in achieving their Net Zero target. I will actively participate in environmental management initiatives, provide research and analysis support, and assist in implementing sustainable practices. I also aim to contribute to the development and implementation of educational and awareness programs to engage stakeholders and promote a culture of sustainability within the Port community. Ultimately, I hope to make a positive impact by helping the Port of Aberdeen move closer to their environmental goals.
Where do you see yourself in your career five years from now?
I hope to have gained significant experience and expertise in environmental management. I aspire to be in a role where I can contribute to the implementation of sustainable practices, advise organizations on environmental regulations and best practices, and effectively communicate and raise awareness about environmental issues. Additionally, I aim to continue learning and growing in my field, potentially taking on more leadership responsibilities and pursuing advanced certifications or degrees to further enhance my skills and knowledge.
