Aberdeen Harbour Achieves ISO 9001 Accreditation

Aberdeen Harbour Board has achieved accreditation of a robust international quality standard for activities within the port.

The ISO 9001 standard joins the Harbour’s existing ISO 45001 safety and ISO 140001 environmental accreditations. The rigorous audit process was completed virtually, observing Government stay-at-home guidance.

Malcolm Brown, Head of SHEQ at Aberdeen Harbour, said:

“Gaining this international benchmark for quality is a huge achievement for Aberdeen Harbour, and bolsters our resolve to provide our customers and port users with a world-class service offering at our modern, multi-use port.”

“I would like to recognise the efforts of everyone within the Harbour Board who ensured we have the required considerations and controls in place across all our departments, while working from home or within restrictions at the port.

“Our lifeblood is our customer base, and with our expansion on the horizon, it is vital we continually set our sights on improved health, safety and quality practices for the benefit of our employees, customers, port users and the wider UK port industry.”
