The Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025
Aberdeen has a rich history with the Tall Ships Races, hosting the incredible fleet in 1991 and 1997.
The Tall Ships Races Races return to city for the first time in almost 30 years from 19-22 July 2025. The event is being organised by Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Inspired, and Port of Aberdeen, in partnership with Sail Training International, and supported by many organisations from across North East.
The event is expected to attract 400,000 visitors and 50 Tall Ships from across the globe and will provide life-changing experiences for 100 young Aberdonians who will sail aboard a Tall Ship, while offering amazing volunteer opportunities for people of all ages.
The Tall Ships Race Route 2025
The Tall Ships Races 2025 will take the majestic Tall Ships fleet through the English Channel and North Sea to Le Havre, Dunkerque, Aberdeen, Kristiansand, and Esbjerg.

Become a Sail Trainee
The Tall Ships Races offer life-changing opportunities for young people between the ages of 15 and 25 to experience life upon a tall ship. They will become an integral member of the crew during the race and have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of crew activities and celebrations.
Volunteering
The Tall Ships Aberdeen team are looking for help to give the international crews and visitors a warm Aberdeen welcome and make the Tall Ships Festival a huge success! There is a role for everyone. Take part in a wide variety of roles from Liaison Officers, Spectator Services, Media, Event Operations, Transport Coordinators, Liaison Officers, Crew Services, Protocol, Hospitality.

Sponsorship will help us to stage the best event possible in Aberdeen and support the young sail trainees from the city to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Tall Ship Hospitality
The deck of a Tall Ship is a truly magnificent location for a corporate social function, a staff party or even a family get-together. Many of the ships will be happy to open their decks for private functions which can be catered aboard, or have refreshments brought aboard depending on ship facilities.
Cultural Programme
Are you a performer, musician, artist or other creative person or organisation. With four-days of culture and entertainment taking place around the Tall Ships event there will be loads of opportunities to get involved.
