With a clear purpose to ‘create prosperity for generations,’ building and maintaining positive relationships with the local community is fundamental to the success of Port of Aberdeen.
Central to this commitment is our strategic charity partnerships, our supPORT-all programme, and funding for ad hoc employee and community projects across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. We partner with local charities and community group to provide project funding, as well as support with time, resources, or equipment, to help those most in need.
Over the past two years, the port has ramped up its community engagement efforts and trebled its corporate social responsibility funding, including the creation of strategic, multi-year partnerships with four Aberdeen based charities.
Now in its 10th year, our supPORT-all programme has awarded over £800,000 in funding since its inception, benefiting more than 210 local initiatives across Aberdeen. This year the programme has awarded £25,000 to nine charities and community groups from areas local to the port.
We will also support colleagues with raising funds for charity and community projects, as well as addressing ad hoc requests that we receive from charities and community groups across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

As society innovates and technology advances, the importance of inspiring the next generation into Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) careers continues to grow. Port of Aberdeen partnered with Aberdeen Science Centre to expand its capacity for delivering STEM community engagement sessions.
Between May 2023 and March 2024, 181 children and 85 adults attended 12 community sessions which explored chemical reactions, discovering geology, and overcoming engineering challenges. The sessions increased attendees’ STEM skills and knowledge, while building social skills in teamwork, communication, and problem solving.
